In 2020, the Lift & Move USA program, known for its live events nationwide, was tasked with developing another vehicle to bring together the community and raise industry awareness for career opportunities in crane, rigging, and specialized transport. The Workforce Ambassadors Program is a group of SC&RA companies committed to raising awareness in their community. This could still be with a live event but could also be through internships, career fairs, or working side-by-side with educators. - classroom presentations
- Career fairs
- Serve on community workforce board/council
- Social share your how you or your employees learned about the industry
- Participate in tuition reimbursement programs
- Partner with educators to meet classroom needs
- Host family days/community days
- Host visits at your facility
- Participate in events, such as Touch a Truck, Construction Days or other similar events
- Represent Lift & Move at industry events (Skills USA, Construction Day, etc) with Lift & Move booth and materials
- Participate in intern/young employee VLOG series
- Partner in an Internship or apprenticeship program
The Skills Gap
Crane, rigging and specialized transportation companies rely on people with technical skills. Predictions indicate a Craft Labor Shortage of 1.9 MIL by 2025. It's time for companies to build awareness and build thier future workforce. The SC&RF research study "The State of the Workforce in Crane, Rigging, and Specialized Transportation" will be released in May 2023.
