Free Online Learning and Course Codes for Educators

Industrial Training International (ITI), one of SC&RF’s Partners in Education, offers more than 1,200 hours of online course content. Its new Learning Hub aggregates free content from a variety of sources as well as custom ITI training. This includes 40+ videos and courses covering Fundamental topics and Level 1 Competency Areas—perfect for students or people new to the industry.

Chris Hipskind, Metal Technology Instructor for Columbia High School in White Salmon, Wash., recently received 20 passcodes to access online rigger and signal person courses available through ITI. “We are very excited to be partnering with SC&RF and ITI to bring modern, high-quality industrial training to our students,” he said.

During this time of distance learning due to COVID-19, alternative methods of instruction are critical. “Without access to our shop facilities, continuing to offer engaging activities that help students move forward in their career choice is challenging,” he said.

In 2018, Hipskind attended Lift & Move USA hosted by NessCampbell Crane + Rigging, held in Portland, Ore. “Students that were able to attend Lift & Move can start to see how this online training can lead to a career right after high school. In fact, I am looking forward to partnering with NessCampbell to create an additional hands-on opportunity for the students who have completed the first two ITI courses. Hands on activities are the secret sauce that makes it real, develops relationships, and provides momentum needed to bring the student into the field,” he said.

CTE instructors can access free ITI Learning Hub Online and On-Demand materials by simply registering with their email.  For courses with fees, students can apply for scholarships through SC&RF, while educators are encouraged to contact SC&RF directly to receive a Course Code to use with classroom instruction.
